Whether you're moving down the street, out of state, to another country, flipping property, renting a new place, or in a foreclosure, everyone knows the stress of moving.

Is it time for a new home? Just bought your dream house? Relocating for work?

Whether you’re moving down the street, out of state, to another country, flipping property, renting a new place, or in a foreclosure, everyone knows the stress of moving. We all accumulate things over time and when we find ourselves moving we’re all faced with that ultimate decision: what we need vs. what we need to get rid of.

When you’re downsizing, clearing out your junk room, basement, or garage becomes a priority. Lots of times we promise ourselves a clean start and that we won’t gather more junk.

The next time that happens, remember these 3 tips:

If you haven’t touched it in 6 months, it’s time to say goodbye.

Regarding clothes, if you haven’t worn them in a year, it’s time to say goodbye.

Set a date for your yard sale or clean out.

When that doesn’t work (and sometimes it doesn’t) remember that Annie Haul can help to make that move as easy as possible for you. We’ll take the stress out of what to do with all the things you no longer need. We will come to your home and take all of it away, and we load our own trucks so all you need to do is point out what needs to go. As always, Annie Haul supports many Portland area non-profits and will find good homes for usable items in good condition. You can feel good about your local donation to people in need while you feel great about clearing out that junk pile.

We won’t stop at junk either!
Moving always involves alot of paper wrapping, bubblewrap and boxes and when you finally have emptied that last box you want to pat yourself on the back but you can’t do it until the huge pile of wrapping is out of your new home. Annie Haul will take all of these materials and ensure they get recycled so you can get rid of that unsightly pile the green way.

So before you start worrying, give us a call, we offer free estimates and a prompt service.

Remember “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!”

You know what’s funny to us? When we see people throwing away perfectly good items, just because they don’t know what to do with them. While we’d never tell you to hold onto your rotting trash or burnt pots & pans, there are plenty of uses for some of the more common pieces of “garbage” around your house. Here’s 5 that we came up with right off the top of our heads:

Never throw out any leftover materials from after a construction project. No matter how small the item, it likely can be used again! Annie Haul has always made it a mission to donate these materials. Whether it’s to Portland’s Rebuilding Center or to people in need, we’ll get your leftover construction pieces in the right hands.

Books. It always amazes us when we see books in decent condition being tossed out. The written word, thrown out like yesterday’s news! Words never die, and neither should your books. We donate books to various outlets around Portland that promote literacy for families and individuals.

Housewares in good condition can be given to families starting over. We’ve donated to domestic abuse survivors in Portland in the past. Really anything around the house in good condition can be used again. We’d gladly donate your linens, clothing and even furniture.

Paint. Here’s one that no one ever knows what to do with (that and oil). Please, please, please, don’t dump it down your sink or onto your lawn! Annie Haul will gladly take your paint to be recycled. So hold onto those half full cans or that color you didn’t like until you see us.

Let’s state the obvious, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Don’t throw out anything that is in good working order or could be reusable. Annie Haul can find new homes in Portland for almost any item you have lying around.

Here at Annie Haul We are delighted to have donated styrofoam of all shapes and sizes to help build the backstage for the Junk to Funk fashion show contest which will be held at the Cyrstal Ballroom on Nov 14th here in lovely Portland. We would like to wish them the best of luck for their big night….We at Annie Haul are always eager to support any efforts to recycle, upcycle or reuse and are happy to see things end up anywhere but in the landfill. The more creative we all become in regard to waste the greener our environment will be. So happy recreating and upcycling everybody and don’t forget to have fun out there..
